A growing number of boutique wineries are cropping up in the Okanagan Valley, where a confluence of factors makes it possible to grow wine grapes in Canada’s interior: rain-shadowed by the Coast Mountain Range and modulated by a 760-foot deep glacial lake, it sits at the northern end of North America’s Sonoran Desert.
